Goal:

With Fright Night Friday, the goal of our game was to create an environment of mystery and fear. We feel that this was accomplished through a combination of lore,  visual aesthetics, and music. We wanted the player to feel alienated, isolated, and afraid. We also wanted to add a small challenge by creating puzzles for the player to solve as they progress through the game.  We would have liked to add a bit more to the game to make it feel scarier like creepier sound effects and more trippy background visuals.

In Fright Night Friday, you play a mysterious character that wakes up with no memory or anything. You are essentially trying to figure out who you are. The mysterious character is a warrior of a fallen kingdom.

Workload:

This project was a team effort of three people working through GitHub.

We used a few assets from the 2D platformer project. The main bulk of the game was created from scratch besides the player and other visual assets.

Zachary Bickmann - Design and implementation of levels 1 and 2. Music.

Kyle Do - Design of level 2. Creator of lore as well as the implementation of the dialogue system.

Jaylon Johnson - Menu systems and UI design. Tutorial-level design and implementation. Music.
